Bikram Update

Well I'm 6 days into Bikram. Missed only 1 day. I was so nervous the first time I thought I was going to puke. Now I crave it. I have lost about 5 pounds, probably
because having a drink at night time isn't very appealing with the thought of
getting up in the morning and doing yoga in a hot room. The other things I've noticed
is my digestion is a lot better and my sexual energy is booming. (Like I need anymore
of that);-) I've been having fun experimenting with outfits, so you'll have
to check into the website and see what the current goodies are!

Bikram Yoga

OK, So recently I was told I "had" to do Bikram Yoga. What the heck is this?
Well it's HOT yoga. They slowly heat the room and you do a series of 26 poses
during the 90 minutes you're there. I was nervous as heck, so I put a post on
Be-Brief and got some great answers/advice... Here they are:

Hi Jimmy - Go! If as you say you are the most inflexible person in the world, then you will benefit most from this experience. Nothing to fear - as you go at your own pace unless the leader is monster. We have Hot Nude Yoga here in New York and it is always frightening to go but then you find out there was nothing to fear and a lot to gain. Remember Yoga uses the body to get to the spiritual so try to forget about yourself, your flaws etc and just do the best you can to follow. If after a few sessions you do not like it/benefit from it - let it go but I think you will really like it. TK

Glad to hear you're starting Bikram yoga. I've been doing it for about two years now, and love it. Don't worry about being inflexible. The main problem that beginners have is with the heat and sweat, so I recommend taking it easy for the first couple of classes until you get used to this.
Does this mean you will carry Bikram clothing for men at your website? I've been having a hard time trying to find the perfect Bikram yoga suit for men. Because of all the sweat, I prefer to wear a compression-style short, but most of the ones I have found are too thin (somewhat see through when you bend over) or too long (Jammer style swimsuits).
Hope you enjoy the yoga class.

Flexible or not, it will come with time and practice. Go give it a try and see if you like it. Don't be self conscious, no one will be paying attention to you during the class. Sharing a quote with you from my yoga instructor - it is all about grace and not race.

The idea behind Bikram yoga is that the poses are done in a very heated room (usually about 105 degrees). The idea is that it promotes profuse sweating, which is believed to help rid the body of toxins. It also keeps the body very warm, and therefore more flexible – so you should have an easier time being flexible if you are, as you say, unflexible. Don’t worry about it though, there are always beginners in most classes and teachers are generally really good at letting people with different levels of experience do poses to the best of their ability J

So after all this great advice. I did it! And let me say I'm addicted. So addicted I've been on the hunt for fun shorts and yoga gear to carry for you guys. I added a whole yoga section and am trying them out daily in class. Yes daily! Stay Tuned for more!
